In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa's powers for his own dark ends.
With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister's war on the ShadowhuntersMagister himself knows their every move and that one of their own has betrayed them.
Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will; the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?
As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.
OMG, this book is amazing, is better that Clockwork Angel (in my humble opinion). Cassandra Clare writes beautifully, Clockwork Prince has it all, action, mystery, romance and is heartbreaking, funny, sweet and just plain awesome. If you are fan of the shadowhunter world as I am you must read this book, is a win-win with it.
Ok, about the plot...Charlotte with the help of Will, Jem and Tessa need to find the Magister or else she may lose the institute and Tessa might end up without a home. And while the investigate Tessa learn more about her origin.
But what I love more in this book is that I finally learn more about Will past, the whys of his behavior and now I understand him. And poor poor Will, he broke my heart several times during the book.
In other hand we have Tessa grow closer to Jem to the point that their frienship turns in something more.
Magnus, wonderful as always!.
About the love triangle..mmmm...usually I have nothing against love triangles, I accept them as they are but I have a feeling that I will suffer a lot in Clockwork Princess. Since I am totally Team Jem, but now after reading Clockwork Prince I am also Team Will. So Cassandra please be gentle with this heart of mine.
“I could not tell you if I loved you the first moment I saw you, or if it was the second or third or fourth. But I remember the first moment I looked at you walking toward me and realized that somehow the rest of the world seemed to vanish when I was with you.”
