Calla has always welcomed war.

But now that the final battle is upon her, there's more at stake than fighting. There's saving Ren, even if it incurs Shay's wrath. There's keeping Ansel safe, even if he's been branded a traitor. There's proving herself as the pack's alpha, facing unnamable horrors, and ridding the world of the Keepers' magic once and for all. And then there's deciding what to do when the war ends. If Calla makes it out alive, that is.
In Bloodrose searchers and keepers are at war and Calla is in the middle, along with Ren, Shay and others embark on seeking the parts of the sword (I cannot remember his name of the sword). I must admit that the first part of the book is full of action scenes as the group goes not stop, and visit different parts of the world in search of parts of the sword, and they encounter different obstacles. Connor is hilarious and Calla (shakes head) is supposed to be the alpha but the whole time she´s undecided, she loves both Shay and Ren and she decides in Chapter 2 to be fair to both and not to decide until the end of the war that is if they survive, but she really made me want to shake her a few times.

I have mixed feelings Bloodrose, the book was going so well for the first 85% of the story, but at with certain event, the book no longer worked for me, in fact I leave the book at that point and I read another book to sheer me up and let my anger pass (I read Friday Night Bites by Chloe Neill) and then return to finish my reading. But the book didn´t worked for me, I did not like the end at all.

As a series I really like Nightshade, but Bloodrose didn´t convince me. But this is a book that you love or not and I'm didn´t love it.

  2. I loved this series< I could nog get enough of Calla and the other Nightshades even after I knew she was going to choose the wrong alpha. Calla is alsa my favorite female kickbutt character.

  3. I haven't started reading this series yet but I've been hearing about it. I need to pick up the first ones of the series. I've heard a few reviews of this one that weren't all that positive. I'd still like to read it though. Thank you for the review.

  4. Haha, I had similar thoughts as yours. I really enjoyed Nightshade, but I was disappointed with the ending of Bloodrose. I agree that it started out well enough and that Calla started out being fair to both Ren and Shay, but after that? Her plans fell through completely. I got the feeling of knowing who she'd end up with and was bracing myself for the impact that the other guy would face when she rejected him... but let's just say what happens to him in the end wasn't what I had expected and ruined the book for me.

  7. I agree, the ending was a bit of a surprise and very unexpected, and while it wasn't exactly how I wanted it to end, the idea slowly grew on me. I mean, I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I felt there was an almost poetic justice and besides, they all seemed quite happy and content...

  8. I absolutely LOATHED this book. I've actually never had such an angry reaction to a novel in my entire life. I will never read anything by Andrea Cremer again because of this book. It was the worst ending ever. I can tell that you didn't hate it quite as much as I did, haha.

  9. The Youtube video for the characters is really good...they need to make a movie to the series NOW using those exact same actors as the exact same characters!!! <3

  11. I haven't read this series yet, but if this book is really not all that great, I think I will wait until the final book is out. And hope that it is a good one, since it will be the final. And a bad final book in a series really, truly sucks.
