Vee Bell is certain of one irrefutable truth--her sister's friend Sophie didn't kill herself. She was murdered.
Vee knows this because she was there. Everyone believes Vee is narcoleptic, but she doesn't actually fall asleep during these episodes: When she passes out, she slides into somebody else's mind and experiences the world through that person's eyes. She's slid into her sister as she cheated on a math test, into a teacher sneaking a drink before class. She learned the worst about a supposed "friend" when she slid into her during a school dance. But nothing could have prepared Vee for what happens one October night when she slides into the mind of someone holding a bloody knife, standing over Sophie's slashed body.
Vee desperately wishes she could share her secret, but who would believe her? It sounds so crazy that she can't bring herself to tell her best friend, Rollins, let alone the police. Even if she could confide in Rollins, he has been acting distant lately, especially now that she's been spending more time with Zane.
Enmeshed in a terrifying web of secrets, lies, and danger and with no one to turn to, Vee must find a way to unmask the killer before he or she strikes again.
It had been a while since I read a book of this genre, I like the mystery and Slide is a good book. I enjoyed trying to figure out who was the killer but I couldn´t guess it, I wasn´t even close, at every moment doubted of all the people (definitely I'm bad for the clues games).
Vee Bell is narcoleptic or at least that is what it seems, because for the rest of the people she's asleep but in reality she slides into a person and can see through their eyes what is happening, but she can not read their minds or even control them, she just can be a bystander of what the person does or says. And when the best friend of her little sister commit suicide, Vee knows that she didn´t do it, because she was she was inside the killer's mind.
Slide is told from Vee´s POV, she´s a girl who has a "gift" (I´m not sure if it is a gift), but she hides her gift from everyone else. Slide is a book that I really liked, love the mystery, I couldn´t help but second guess everyone and though it didn´t had a cliffhanger I definitely want to read the next book in this series - Impostor.
When I was reading it reminded me of two other books The Body Finder and Wake, although it was not identical there was something similar with those books. I loved it and I do recommend it if you like mystery books.
