Top Ten Tuesday (34): Popular Authors I've Never Read

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Popular Authors I've Never Read
(in no particular order)
1. Stephen King (Carrie, The Shining, It, The Green Mile and more): I've seen several of the movies based on his books, but I´ve never read one of his books.

2. George R.R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire series aka A Game of Thrones): This is a series that I´ve wanted to read for a while but I haven´t because sometimes just seen a big fat book intimidates me.

3. Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson and the Olympians seriesKane Chronicles series and The Heroes of Olympus series) : I´ve the first e-book of Kane Chronicles and Heroes of Olympus, but I haven´t read it yet.

4. James Dashner (The Maze Runner series and The Mortality Doctrine series): I´ve the e-book of Maze Runner that I need to read before the movie comes out.

5. Scott Westerfeld (Uglies series and Leviathan series): I´ve heard that the Uglies series is really good but I haven´t read it yet.

6. Sophie Kinsella (Shopaholic seriesCan You Keep a Secret?I've Got Your Number and more): I just bought can you keep a secret?, so maybe later this year I´ll read it.

7. Jodi Picoult (My Sister's KeeperNineteen Minutes and more)

8. Laurie Halse Anderson (SpeakWintergirls and more): ¨ve Wintergirls so maybe later this year I´ll read it.

 10. Rainbow Rowell (Eleanor & ParkFangirl): I´ve both e-books and I haven´t read them, maybe I´ll read one of them between some of the books that I´ve for review.

These are some of the popular authors that I haven´t read yet. Other authors that I haven´t read are Diana Gabaldon and Nicholas Sparks.

  1. You MUST read Rick Riordan! He's so funny and his books are filled with so much knowledge about each subject in such a non-teachy and fun way! And don't feel bad, I haven't read James Dashner either. I do plan to one day though!

  2. I didn't expect this, but from your list I haven't read only G. R. R. Martin, Laurie Halse Anderson & Jodi Picoult, from the rest I've read at least one book. And I totally should've put Nicholas Sparks on my list, too, though I haven't read Diana Gabaldon as well.

I've actually seen lots of adaptations for Stephen King's books & stories, too, though I've read only one of his books so far, though I'm hoping to read more ;)

I've read the Percy Jackson series, as well as the 1st Kane Chronicles book (I need to finish that trilogy).

I wasn't really a fan of The Maze Runner. I read it when it came out, but it was average for me, so I didn't continue with the series, but I'm definitely going to check out the movie ;)

I loved Uglies at the time I read it, (haven't read the sequels), but now if I read it again I don't know if I will, probably I'll only like it, though I loved Leviathan the 1st time, and I'm actually rereading it right now & loving it again :) It's time to finish the trilogy!

Sophie Kinsella's books are cute & fun. I've read only a few of them, but they're fun. Actually, Can You Keep A Secret was my 1st Kinsella read a few years ago, I remember it was funny, so I hope you'll like it :)

I've read a couple of Meg Cabot books, and to be honest, I was wondering what the fuss is about? But I plan to give her another chance & read the 1st Heather Wells book ;)

And I loved Eleanor & Park of course. I still need to read Fangirl, Attachments, too, hopefully I'll read them this year :)

Anyway, I hope you'll try & enjoy all of these authors!

  4. The only Stephen King I've read was "The Secret Window" story because I wanted to go see the movie with Johnny Depp in it. This makes my team teacher so angry since she is SK #1 fan. Percy Jackson is such a fun series and made me really interested in mythology. Heather Wells series is great and was a perfect read last summer. Rainbow Rowell; don't wait any longer...seriously. She is easily one of my favorite YA authors.

  7. I have read about half of those authors and didn't really care much for any of their books so I guess I'm just not interested in "popular" authors.
