The stunning debut that began with Archetype— and has readers buzzing—concludes in Prototype, when a woman’s dual pasts lock onto a collision course, threatening her present and future.
Emma looks forward to the day when she can let go of her past—both of them. After more than a year on the run, with clues to her parents’ whereabouts within her grasp, she may finally find a place to settle down. Start a new life. Maybe even create new memories with a new family.
But the past rises to haunt her and to make sure there’s nowhere on the planet she can hide. Declan Burke wants his wife back, and with a little manipulation and a lot of reward money, he’s got the entire world on his side. Except for the one man she dreads confronting the most: Noah Tucker.
Emma returns to face what she’s done but finds that the past isn’t the problem. It’s the present—and the future it represents. Noah has moved on and another woman is raising their daughter.
In the shocking conclusion to M.D. Waters’s spectacular debut, Emma battles for her life and her freedom, tearing down walls and ripping off masks to reveal the truth. She’s decided to play their game and prove she isn’t the woman they thought she was. Even if it means she winds up dead. Or worse, reborn.
I loved the first book of this brilliant adult duology and after that ending I needed to read its sequel immediately.
Prototype takes place a little more than a year since the events in Archetype and Emma's running of the men in her life, her past and she expects to find her parents so she can regain some normalcy and a family that can accept her, but what she isn´t expecting is that Declan will not give up on her and is willing to do anything to get her back, and she will not find a place on earth where she can hide, without someone alerting her whereabouts, and she will have no choice but to ask helps to the person she expected to never see again.
In this book we see a slightly different Emma as she finally knows who she really is and is trying to come to terms with this fact, besides she miss terrible the life that she could have had with Noah. Furthermore we see a stronger Emma and more determined to have a place in this world, regardless of the past, she´s a fighter. But besides Emma, Noah and Declan, we get to see a bit more of Foster a character that we saw very little in the previous book, but also new characters are introduced like Leigh and Miles...I liked them a lot.
Prototype is an excellent sequel and conclusion of this fascinating and captivating series. Prototype is a fast-paced, action-packed and I loved the romance. I loved the ending!! I highly recommend this duology.
I genuinely look forward to starting this series. The author kind of came on the scene with a wham, a series that people adore. And i definitely can't wait to be a part of this story!
ReplyDeleteNice review, it makes me want to read this book. Maybe I should try :)
ReplyDeleteI have read some great things about this duology even if I remember one of my bloggy friends saying that the first book was a bit slow! Glad to hear in this one the main character was strong and ready to fight!
