Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parents and playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect, a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer, it’s his cousin Beau who catches Ashton’s eye. Beau is the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, and even though he’s dangerous, Ashton is drawn to him.

Beau loves his cousin like a brother, so the last thing he wants to do is make a move on Sawyer’s girl. Ashton is off-limits, absolutely. That’s why he does his best to keep his distance, even though he’s been in love with her forever. When Ashton wants to rekindle their childhood friendship in Sawyer’s absence, Beau knows he should say no.

Ashton and Beau don’t want to hurt Sawyer. But the more they try to stay away from each other, the more intense their urges become. It’s getting way too hard to resist...

I got this ebook for free a long time ago, when it was self-published, but I never got the chance to read it until now. I've heard many good things about Abbi Glines books and I've bought another ebooks (that I have yet read). I like this book, but I don´t know if it's because I started reading it with great expectations, but I did not like as much as expected.

From the beginning the plot screams disaster, because it can not end well that the main character falls in love with the cousin/best friend of her boyfriend. Ashton, Beau and Sawyer were all childhood best friends and did everything together until four years ago she became Sawyer´s girlfriend and Beau decided that he no longer wanted to be friend of Ashton.

Beau and Sawyer are cousins, best friends and one would do anything for the other, that is until Beau decides to act and recognize the love he had felt for years for Ashton. And Ashton is tired that all the people in town expect that she will be perfect, because as the preacher's daughter and Sawyer´s girlfriend, they can not expect anything different from her. So while Sawyer is on vacation, Ashton and Beau decide to try to rescue their "friendship" that was lost when she became Sawyer's girlfriend.

I think that Ashton and Beau could had do things differently, but strangely by the end of the book I wanted that Ashton and Beau end up together. And for most of the book I was expecting that Sawyer was a fake and that he was not as perfect as all people thought he was, but Sawyer is a very good guy, who loves Beau and Ashton and although there is a part where I would like that he had act differently, he´s my favorite character of the book.

Overall it is an entertaining read and although I never got to like Ashton, I'll definitely read the next book (but not soon), The Vincent Brothers because I want to read Sawyer´s story.

  2. I have heard nothing but great things about this one, but I have still been hesitant to read it. It was nice to read your review, that was a little less gushing. I just don't know if this book is for me. Seems like a ton of drama, and I don't like drama all that much. Gotta be a dang good book for me to enjoy that.

  4. I've seen lots of praise for Abbi Glines on many blogs, and this one is actually on my TBR mountain. I downloaded it for free from the Kindle Store. I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy it as much as you hoped you would, but it's saying something that you want to read more of the series!
